This Universe

I am sure what this means yet but it is cool. If you load your URL into the TouchGraph widget, it creates a graphical representation of your links universe. It is also dynamic so if you click on your link, more pings go out, adding to the complexity of information represented. If you click on the link for another blog, the whole graph moves to rearrange the universe to that blog’s perspective.

Large neato factor.

Will the Ensign Guys Still Let Me Play?

I placed the image on the left I guess for a reason. Via Boing, here is a gallery of great 1940s war effort posters reworked by neutral objective political observers anti-Bush activists. My pal to the left being shut up is from the freedom of thought related section. This one is very effective. I quite like this one, too. Buy me the mug.

Stuff to Read

Some recommended reading:

  • Brian with the legal office of the 10th Mountain in Iraq has some interesting experiences he is sharing. It is very strange to correspond with someone in a war zone.

  • Living in Dryden is just that, an indexing of public events in the town of Dryden, New York. It is fascinating in its compendiousness…compendiousity.

  • John Gushue is a journalist in Newfoundland who appears to have an in with Paul Moth. I wonder if they were in the same crowd in Laos back in ’84?

Gmail Privacy?

Darren Barefoot raises a pretty big concern over Gmail privacy and agreements Google has signed allowing unspecified nations read everything on their servers.

That is why I have a tiny little bill I pay every month to the little firm and the one guy I know who will not sell me out to the Chinese and the Saudis. That’s were I keep all the good stuff, Mr. government agent for unspecified foreign nation.

Silverware for the ‘Ton

What better way to celebrate the 1,000th post than a picture from after last weekend’s 2-1 victory by SFA Div. 2’s Greenock Morton over the hated neighbouring SFA Div. 1’s St. Mirren of Paisley (Ed.: acht, ptweie, spit). I have enjoyed watching a match at each of their home grounds but if your Dad’s from Greenock you ought to be a Morton fan. More photos here. Discuss the obsession here.

Expect lighter posting for the next while with holidays and the death of the Dell’s high speed access at home. We all need a wee kip and a nip for the 1,000th – have one for me.
